SHOUT FOR JOY! YOU ARE A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Are you in Christ? If so, when you look into the mirror, do you see yourself as a new creation? Do you behold all the things that have become new in you? If you do, a shout of joy will burst forth from your mouth, because you will be seeing that you are made in the image of God Himself.

The moment that you were born again a miracle took place. The old you passed away; it was crucified with Christ. At that moment, the same mighty power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead and seated Him at the right hand of God in the heavenly places, raised you with Him, making you into a totally brand-new creation.

The power of hell could not keep Jesus in the grave and the power of hell could not keep you spiritually dead, living under the tyranny of the kingdom of darkness. By no choice of your own through natural birth, you were born spiritually dead via the fall into Adam’s family. You were born with a sin nature. You were made a sinner.

But, by your choice of inviting Jesus Christ into your heart to dwell, you have gone through a spiritual rebirth, passing from death to life. You were born again miraculously with the very nature of God Himself-  just as righteous as God Himself.

You were miraculously born again with the very nature of God Himself.

Romans 5:19 shares this new reality, “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.” This is a statement of identity. You were made a sinner through the act of one man, the first Adam. But, when you were born of God, you were made one hundred percent righteous through the act of one man, Jesus Christ.

What does this mean? This means that your spirit man, the real you, will never be more righteous than the moment you were born again. It means that the new spirit within you has been made holy, as He is holy. If your spirit was not made one hundred percent righteous and holy, the Holy Spirit could not dwell in you. But He is! (1 Cor. 3:16; Jn. 14:17) Therefore, you are no longer powerless over the “old things” that once captivated your soul, your body, or your circumstances or held you in bondage.

Today, as you look into the mirror of God’s Word, according to what Jesus’ blood has for done for you through the work of the cross, declare the beautiful reality of who you are as a new creation in Christ. (See more of “Who I am in Christ” by clicking here.)

New Creation Declarations:

  • I am a new creation and under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the One Who “makes all things new.” (2 Cor. 4:17; Rev. 21:5)
  • I am set free from the “old thing.” I am no longer under its authority or power. It no longer has dominion over me. (2 Cor. 5:17: Rom. 6:14)
  • I am forgiven and cleansed from all my sin and healed of all my diseases by the power of Jesus’ blood. (1 John 1:9; Ps. 103:2-3; 1 Peter 2:24)
  • I am God’s beloved child and an heir of God through Christ. (1 John 3:1; Rom. 8:15-16; Gal. 4:7)

In Christ,
