Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
If you are filled with hope, you will have a positive expectation that something good is going to happen to you. Why? Because you believe that Jesus has already given you the victory over whatever negative forces – sin, sickness, financial lack, you name it – are confronting you. (see 1 Cor. 15:57-58; 2 Cor. 2:14; 1 John 4:4)
If you are filled with despair, you will feel quite the opposite. Instead of being confident in God’s goodness towards you, you will question God’s Word and what the future holds. Pessimism and negative thinking will dominate your heart and mind.
Hope and despair are opposite forces, originating from two different sources. God is the source of ALL hope. satan is the source of ALL despair – ALL hopelessness. When you ask God to fill you with SUPER-natural hope, hope that is beyond all natural hope, He will fill you not only with His hope but with His SUPER-natural joy and peace.
No matter what you are facing, God’s hope will overpower hopelessness as you trust in Him. How does this happen? Through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Begin activating God’s hope by believing in Jesus Christ, the Word of God, and by believing in the victorious work of the cross where Jesus defeated the very source of all hopelessness and despair, satan himself. Make a quality decision today to be a person who lives in God’s dominion of hope!
Prayer for Living in God’s Dominion of Hope:
Father, I thank-You that you are the God of Hope. Fill me to overflowing with Your hope, the hope that is beyond all natural hope, and with Your unstoppable joy and perfect peace. Strengthen me by the power of the Holy Spirit so that I will radiate Your hope, joy, and peace to my family, friends, and to the world around me, being a beacon of light amidst the darkness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
