Keep it! Hold on to the end!

…… but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end. Hebrews 4:6

“Keep it! Hold on to the end! See the finish line!” repeatedly exhorted our spin instructor towards the end of our cycling session. Too often during a long arduous race the tendency of the flesh is to give up – to slow down or to even quit – before the race is finished, before the victory is won.

Her words seemed to be echoing Paul’s words that I had just read earlier that morning  “…hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end…  hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.” Hebrews 3: 6,14 

• Keep it!  Keep the Word of God in your heart! Keep your eyes on His everlasting promises! Keep your eyes on Jesus, the One Who has given His life for your salvation – for your healing and deliverance. 
• Hold on to the end!  Hold on to your confidence! Hold on to your hope In Christ firm to the end!
• See the finish line! See Jesus’ finished work of the cross!  See the victory He has already won for you!
