Have you ever pulled a dandelion from the grass and blew on its white fluffy seed-head, watching the white parachute like seeds soar through the air? I have fond memories of doing this as a child. However, as my husband and I were recently walking past some lawns covered with dandelions plants at all stages – some bearing the bright yellow flowers and others ripe with seeds ready to soar with the slightest breeze – I knew that my perspective of these dandelions had changed. I enjoy a beautiful green lawn – not one filled with dandelions.In the garden of Eden, satan used the breath of his mouth to blow his evil seed thoughts, his dandelion like seed-heads, into the atmosphere surrounding the garden of Adam and Eve’s heart. And, you know what happened next. His seed rapidly took root in their hearts, causing a massive take-over of their lives. Soon after that they were kicked out of the beautiful garden in which they once lived.
How can you prevent the garden of your own heart from being subdued by these dandelion-like thoughts and having them massively affect your life? The answer is similar to what you find in your own front yard. If you have a healthy lawn it makes it much more difficult for the dandelion seeds to germinate and grow. Your neighbor next door may have a lawn filled with dandelions, but if you tend to your lawn, creating the right conditions for your grass seed to be healthy and to flourish, there won’t be room for the dandelions to grow.
