You and I have a real enemy who comes to steal, kill, and destroy our lives. At times, when the battle is raging against your health and life and that of your loved ones, you can feel quite helpless and hopeless. I understand, especially when you don’t realize that a real spiritual battle is taking place behind the scenes. And even if you do, you may not understand how to activate the power of Jesus’ blood that will defeat the enemy on every front.
Desiring to help a couple of people this week, I wrote out a “Powerful Prayer” declaration called “Activating the Power of Jesus’ Blood,” a compilation of short prayers I have prayed regularly for years. Early on when I learned about pleading Jesus’ blood and instituted it as part of my private regular prayer life, different people at different places and times would come up and prophesy over me “All I can see is the Blood.” After several times of this happening, I realized that God wanted me to know the reality of my prayers. In the spirit realm, I was activating the power of Jesus’ blood.
How can you activate the power of Jesus’ blood, overcoming the devil and all forms of evil?
- By the word of your testimony – by declaring with your mouth what God’s Word says the blood of Jesus Christ has already done for you through the work of the cross. (Revelations 12:11; Romans 10:10)
- The below prayer entitled “Activating the Power of Jesus’ Blood” is a great way to begin.
Where did applying the blood of Jesus come from?
Applying the blood of an unblemished Lamb goes back to Old Covenant. The Israelites were told to “take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses.” (Exodus 12:7) God said, “And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.” (Exodus 12:13) The Israelites who applied the blood to the doorposts of their homes were protected from the destructive plague, which came upon the land. The death angel had to pass over the homes where the blood was applied. Jesus Christ is our Passover lamb (1 Cor. 5:7). Applying the blood to our lives and that of our loved ones, involves testifying with our mouth what Jesus’ blood has accomplished. As we do this an invisible barrier occurs in the spirit realm, declaring to the enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy that he cannot trespass the bloodline.
POWERFUL PRAYER
ACTIVATING THE POWER OF JESUS’ BLOOD
I plead/apply the Blood of Jesus Christ
- over myself and over my family, over ___________(name each person in your family).
- over our ministry, property, possessions, cars, finances, ________ (name anything else concerning you and those you are praying for – ie. kids education)
- and over all the work of my (our) hands
I declare that through the Blood of Jesus Christ I am (we are)
- redeemed from the curse – which includes every form of sickness ______(name the sicknesses and diseases that have specifically come against you and your loved ones). (Gal. 3:13-14)
- righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21); sanctified (Hebrews 13:12); and cleansed from all sin (1 John 1:9)
- healed (1 Peter 2:24)
- and I (we) have boldness to enter into the presence of God. (Hebrews 10:19)
Because of Jesus’ blood
- the devil has no power over me (us), (1 John 4:4)
- no claims against me (us), (Colossians 2:14-15; John 14:30)
- and no place in me (us). (John 14:30)
My family and I are overcomers! We have overcome _____________ by the blood of the Lamb and by the Word of our testimony. (Revelation 12:11).
The blood of Jesus has never lost its power! No matter what sickness, temptation, addiction, fear or negative circumstance you or your loved ones are facing, there is power in the blood of Jesus Christ to heal, protect, deliver, and set you free.
