By whose stripes you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24
Have you heard? Jesus Christ, the Word of God, has been resurrected from the dead! He is alive! (Revelation 1:18) So, why walk through another day as if Jesus, the Word of God is dead? Why choose to live as one who has no hope – no hope of God’s Word becoming true for your life, no hope of God’s Word bringing forth its inherent life and power in you and through you.
Why walk around as the two men on the road to Emmaus did, carrying in their hearts the crucified Christ, because they did not know the resurrected Christ? They did not know Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. Yes, there is a time for weeping at the felt loss of Jesus’ presence in your life. But, there comes a time when you move past this felt loss and begin to recognize the resurrected Christ Who is walking with you and living in you, the One Who has never forsaken you. Yes, it is time to begin intentionally living moment by moment within the resurrected power of Jesus Christ, the supernatural power of the living Word of God.
It is time to cry out to God, as the apostle Paul did, for your heart and the hearts of those in our nation and in our world to be awakened to the true knowledge of the resurrected Christ – to the knowledge of the exceeding greatness of God’s power, the same power that raised Christ from the dead. (See Ephesians 1:17-21)
It’s time to pray like never before that “God would grant you… to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man…” so that you would be able to behold the resurrected Christ, the Living Word of God, in the midst of contrary evidence, circumstances and symptoms, so that Christ, the Word of God would richly dwell in you through faith. (See prayer from Eph. 3: 14-21)
Yes, today, God desires to resurrect the Word of God in your heart. If you are in need of healing, God desires for 1 Peter 2:24 to be resurrected in your heart so that you can fasten yourself to “The Hope” that is beyond all natural hope.
Can you make this happen out of shear will power? No, absolutely not! But, you can partner with God, releasing the inherent life and power of God’s Word. How can you do this? By speaking God’s Word with your mouth, just as God exhorts you to do in Ephesians 6:17 “Take….the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word (rhema) of God.” In Greek “rhema” refers to the spoken Word of God. The written word of God, “logos” in Greek, becomes the living and powerful “sword of the Spirit” the moment you release God’s Word from your mouth.
Of course, satan will try everything to convince you that nothing is happening when you speak the Word of God. But, don’t listen to him. Instead, be Jesus’ disciple and keep declaring the Word of God – 1 Peter 2:24 from your mouth until you actually see the reality of God’s Word transform your heart along with your soul (your mind, will, and emotions) and your body.
The Word of God is one of the most powerful supernatural weapons you have to defeat the enemy.
Why should you do this? Because the Word of God is one of the most powerful supernatural weapons you have to defeat the enemy. Jesus knew its power. But, do you? (John 12:49) When Jesus was in face to face combat with the devil in the wilderness how did Jesus win the battle? (See Matt. 4) He did exactly what God has instructed you to do in Ephesians 6:17. Jesus took “the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God” and released it from His mouth. Immediately after Jesus spoke the written Word of God three times, addressing satan’s three different temptations, satan was defeated. satan had no choice but to obey the authority of the written Word of God that Jesus spoke. If Jesus needed to do this in order to defeat satan’s temptations how about you?
You are created in the image and likeness of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor. 5:17) You are created to release the written Word of God out of your mouth. If you need healing, begin to release 1 Peter 2:24 out of your mouth. 1 Peter 2:24 declares “By His stripes you were healed.” The Word of God puts your healing into the past tense. Yes, that is right, you don’t need to put your healing into the future, because God has already put it into the past. You get to say what God says. Well, if that is true, when did it happen? The moment you accepted Jesus Christ into your heart at that moment in time “the old things passed away… and all things have become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17) Your new identity in Christ includes “the forgiveness of ALL of your sins, the healing of ALL your diseases, and the deliverance of your life from the pit of destruction.” (Isaiah 53:1-5, Psalm 103:3-5)
Accept the Truth that Jesus Christ, the Word of God, is not dead but alive. Receive the life giving power of 1 Peter 2:24. Watch it resurrect your heart, soul, and body from death to life as you begin to release it from your mouth.
