Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you. I Peter 5:7 NLT
Handing over your cares to God is one of the most crucial steps you can take in living fearlessly. Too often, however, you may find yourself doing quite the opposite!
What would happen If you wanted one of your favorite pairs of shoes fixed? You would take them to the shoe repairman, right? After you explain to the shoe repairman your need, he would reach out his hand to take the shoes from you. If you just re-explain everything, but don’t hand your shoes over to him, they won’t get fixed – no matter how much explaining you do! What will the shoe repairman be thinking? “I have fixed a thousand pairs of shoes just like yours, but I guess you don’t really trust me.”
As you come to God in prayer, God desires for you to “give all your worries and cares to Him.” Trust Him and hand-over your fear-provoking thoughts and circumstances, so that He can “fix them”. And, remember that while others may have abandoned you, the Lord will take care of you, because “He cares about you”. Ps. 27:10, I Peter 5:7
While others may have abandoned you and the impossible situation you are facing, know that the Lord will take care of you. Ps. 27:10
Once you have given all your worries and cares to God, allow your soul to rest in God’s ability and power to fix your “shoes”. Resting involves staying in a place of faith and hope: allowing your faith to say, “I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!” and allowing your hope to say, “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage; He will strengthen your heart; wait on the Lord.” Psalm 27:13-14
