4 KEYS TO HEARING GOD’S VOICE

Habakkuk 2:1-2 I will watch to see what He will say to me…  Then the Lord answered me and said:  “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.

It is not only possible, but easier than you think to hear God’s voice for your everyday life. This past week Norma and Michael Letinsky introduced “4 Keys to Hearing God’s Voice.”  Because I believe their teaching will help klck-start a whole new journey for you in talking and walking with God, I wanted to highlight the four keys – stillness, vision, spontaneity, and journaling.

It is not only possible, but easier than you think to hear God’s voice for your everyday life.

Stillness involves quieting down your mind and emotions.  To help with this process, you allow your sanctified vision or imagination to help you picture Jesus in a serene setting.  As you ask Him a question and listen to His response, tune your mind into the spontaneous thoughts, impressions, and images that begin to occur.  Journaling what you are receiving without judging or evaluating it will help you not to block the flow and to listen with childlike faith.

To help you put into practice these four keys listen to the beach scene (forward to the 28 minute mark) Michael created as you close your eyes and ask Jesus the question, “Lord, what do you want to say to me about our relationship?”  You can use a different place or scenario, but remember to see Jesus and sense His love for you, as you write out the spontaneous thoughts and images you receive.

These 4 keys are taken from Mark Virkler – Communion with God Ministries.  In his “Our Message in 8 Minute” video, Mark shares how he was surprised that the first thing he heard God talk to him about was His unconditional love.  Mark knew about God’s love with his head, but he did not believe it with his heart. It was only through this process of using these “4 Keys to Hearing God’s Voice” that he experienced God’s love.  For the first time, he understood that God did not want to whip him nor did God want Mark to whip himself for his sins,  but rather God wanted him to “let it go” because of the price Jesus had already paid with His blood.

If you are desiring to have God’s Truths – especially about how much God’s loves you, go from your head and into your heart, I encourage you to join us this Tuesday for this life transforming series, “How to Hear God’s Voice.”
